It is well known that the metal materials (such as aluminum alloy, stainless steel, etc.) used as window frames have great thermal conductivity, which makes the heat exchange between the house and the outside very fast, which is not conducive to the heat insulation of the house in summer and the heat insulation and energy saving of the house in winter. In order to make the metal window frame play the role of heat insulation and energy saving, the inner and outer metal must be separated by plastic with low thermal conductivity. This plastic is not general plastic, but engineering plastic, because it must match the metal in terms of strength, modulus or thermal expansion coefficient, so that the metal and plastic can be closely combined without falling off.

According to European Standards Committee, the physical properties of this engineering plastic material must comply with the following requirements.

Tensile strength N/mm2≥110 ISO 527

Elongation at break %≥3 ISO 527

Impact strength KJ/mm2≥30 ISO 179

Hot deformation temperature °C≥240 ISO 75

Melting point °C≥250

Service life at 80°C ≥50000 hours

At present, the composition of this engineering plastic insulation strip is mainly polyamide 66 with glass fiber reinforcement.

The characterized of insulation strips

A. The coefficient of thermal expansion is almost the same as that of aluminum alloy, so as to avoid falling off of the insulation strip and metal due to thermal expansion and contraction.

B. It can withstand wind pressure, vertical impact force and long-term pressure.

C. Ability to withstand extreme heat treatment.

D. Anodizing treatment or surface treatment can be carried out after combination with metal by rolling.

E. Can be cleaned directly with various cleaning agents.

F. Effectively prevents condensation.

G. Excellent energy saving performance. The windows and doors designed with rolled glass fiber reinforced polyamide 66 will not cause mechanical strength reduction and water leakage due to thermal expansion and contraction, and the energy-saving performance is very ideal.
